The Ohio Army National Guard has played such a pivotal role in protecting and defending its state that the state's nickname, "The Buckeye State," came from the famed Ohio Guard 37th "Buckeye" Division. The division played a decisive role in WWI, WWII and the Korean Conflict, and was rated one of the best American divisions by the Germans. The Ohio Guard is always ready to serve its state and country, like when it helped end a multi-day riot at the state prison in 1993. And today, more than 9,000 Ohio Guard members have served overseas in support of the Global War on Terror. You can serve, too. Find your path to honor in the Ohio Army National Guard.
