Project REBUILD, Inc.
Project REBUILD, Inc. was founded in 1999 as a non-profit and became a YouthBuild USA affiliated program in 2003. Our mission is to re-engage at-risk youth to complete their high school diploma or GED and learn marketable construction skills through the rehabilitation of low income housing. There are six primary components to our program; education, construction training, leadership development/community service, case management, mentoring and graduate resources. A typical participant in our program is between the ages of 16-24, is a high school dropout and low income. During their six to nine month stay in our program, participants spend 50% of their time pursuing their education goals and 40% of their time learning construction skills through on-the-job training on worksites. The remaining 10% of their time is spent on life skills curriculums including financial literacy, healthy relationships, leadership development, career exploration and job readiness soft skills. To date over 300 participants have completed the program and have been responsible for the creation of over 40 units of low income housing in Stark County.
