PART-TIME Insurance Check Processor (28 hours per week)
GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Insurance Check Processor is responsible for check issuance for authorized automobile, general liability, property, and workers' compensation claims. This position will assist the manager, supervisor and other departments in reporting, administrative and clerical functions along with special projects. Scheduled for 28 hours per week, must be 5 days a week.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Claims Intake Tasks:
1 Print and prepare checks ordered by the claims adjusters for mail.
2 Assist manager with projects.
3 Assist IT Department. Run monthly reports wand mail, mail quarterly reports, and W-9 letter follow ups.
4 Reply to provider calls concerning status of WC bills.
5 Compile Med Authorization letters.
6 Enter state report data.
7 Overtime as needed is required to meet business needs.
8 Other job functions may be added as business needs arise.
1 Assist in preparing reports, letters and other materials for the manager and supervisors.
2 Assist the manager and supervisors in preparing presentations.
3 Assist the manager and supervisors in projects.
4 Assist the manager and supervisors in scheduling meetings, travel and appointments.
5 Assist the manager and supervisors in record keeping, vendor and attorney management.
6 Orders and maintains inventory of envelopes, letterhead paper and check stock.
7 Other duties may include copying, faxing scanning and handling delegated calls.
8 Assist other departments in these functions.
9 Overtime as needed is required to meet business needs.
10 Other job functions may be added as business needs arise.
May be called upon to perform other job tasks and/or project oriented work within skill level. In addition, may be cross-trained on select tasks for back-up purposes. Some information may be sensitive in nature and confidentiality in handling this information is required.

REQUIRED: Associates degree required along with minimum three years’ experience in insurance claims / bookkeeping / accounting environment.
Excellent attendance is crucial in this position as not to disrupt business operations.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy are required. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with a high level of integrity. Proficiency in Windows operating systems or equivalent. Fully proficient in EXCEL and WORD along with other computer skills, including data entry. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating procedures, manuals and medical records. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Salary: $11.00 to $12.00 /hour
