Director of Housing
The Community Health Center is a non-profit social service agency in the Akron area whose mission is to treat, inspire, support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. OMCDC (Ohio Multi-County Development Corporation) is a program of the Community Health Center and is a community development corporation providing affordable housing opportunities to low and moderate income persons in Carroll, Cuyahoga, Holmes, Lorain, Portage, Stark, Summit, and Wayne counties.
We are currently looking for a Director of Housing to oversee the management of Community Health Center (CHC) Housing Programs, to include OMCDC, by monitoring grant writing and compliance and coordinating HUD 811 and 202 programs.
Will be responsible for the overall and day to day organization and administration of CHC housing programs. Duties will include: Managing and supervising staff to include training and evaluation; Monitoring business activities; Establishing, developing, maintaining, and updating all program policies and procedures; Gathering and organizing all documents/information necessary for HUD Property Management Reviews; Acting as the Team Leader during the actual review process and being responsible for developing an appropriate Improvement Plan as specified by HUD within the required deadline; Working with staff to write and secure housing grants and following up with compliance for each grant, specifically responsible for the Continuum of Care (CoC) grant by compiling, budgeting, submitting and ensuring compliance; Responsible for HUD APR submission, recertifications, REAC inspections, spot auditing and identifying and compliance with Fair Housing rules; Ensuring productivity standards and service delivery are met in a timely fashion; and Overseeing construction and budget processes of housing programs and projects.
Requirements include: BA Degree in Urban Planning Design and Development or 5 years experience in similar position. Knowledge in apartment management, fair housing laws and regulations and housing community. Management experience including supervision, training, development, and mentoring staff. Must be an excellent multi-tasker with superior coordination skills.
