Senior Accountant heavy SAP Job in Akron Ohio (OH)

POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a newly created position reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting with responsibility for the centralization of and continued support of the domestic general accounting function. This position will have interaction with many levels in the organization including seven field locations, two segment headquarters and corporate personnel. The position will assist with the day to day accounting functions, month end closings and analyze data necessary to properly account for activities and assist in monitoring and controlling costs. Assures that adequate internal controls for operations and accounting functions are maintained.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the coordination of centralizing the domestic general accounting function;
― Initial integration from domestic field location to Corporate Headquarters
― Ongoing support and functional responsibility
• Monthly closing process utilizing SAP across all domestic locations;
― Journal entry processing
― Executing assessments
― Balance sheet reconciliations
― Report generation
• Maintain and develop SOX procedures and documentation
• Maintain and develop inter-company pricing documentation
• Support for both internal and external audits
• Support for fixed asset, accounts payable and cash management accounting
• Special assignments as designated by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5 to 7 years accounting experience,,, preferably a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor degree in accounting required
• Prefer CPA or working toward CPA certification
• Excellent hands-on working knowledge of SAP accounting modules
• Excellent working skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written
• Effective project planning and leadership skills
• High degree of integrity and attention to organizational detail with strong work ethic
