We are currently seeking a Purchasing Assistant. Candidate will Report directly to the Director of Purchasing.
Responsibilities:
§ Prepare written inquires or obtain verbal or written quotes for vendor supplied items and fabrication in compliance with requisitions and/or specifications furnished by contracting departments.
§ Carry out strategic plans consistent with overall profit and growth objectives
§ Review vendor bids, evaluate bids, considering price, delivery date, past performance of vendor, etc. to determine successful bidder.
§ Negotiate terms/conditions of and place purchase orders. Negotiate and issue purchase change orders.
§ Item code matching and implementation (standardized from estimating through purchasing through costing).
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
§ Knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, accounting and business contract laws required.
§ Computer hardware and software, including: Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint); use of the Internet. Ability to learn other software if required with company-provided training.
§ Two or more years experience in Purchasing in the process piping industry or related industry is preferred.
§ A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or equivalent is preferred.
