Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP) Group Facilitator
SUMMARY: Facilitate a weekly Relatives as Parents Program support group for caregivers seeking help, hope, strength and support in their parenting roles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Model positive communication skills and encourage all group members to participate in group discussions.
Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and practices, as well as safety and security regulations.
Facilitate the process of personal growth. Provide guidance, hope and encouragement in a non-judgmental manner that is nurturing to participants in the group.
Be a resource for caregivers - give information and make referrals to other services and programs in the community.
Promote the practice of non-physical, positive discipline techniques.
Submit weekly sign-in sheets to the Parents Anonymous Program® Coordinator, as well as the county's Department of Job and Family Services.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in related field or minimum two years experience.
Experience in the family strengthening/child abuse field. Knowledge of family/group dynamics, family transitions, aging, child development and parenting skills.
A valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required.
HOURS:
Schedule can vary depending upon the growth of the program to a maximum of six hour per week, with varying shifts.
