Responsibilities:
-Oversee daily work activities performed by the paving crew.
- Distribute and discuss the schedule and equipment needed for the day with the crew.
- Confirm with the plant operator about load times, type of material, tonnage totals.
- Calculate number of trucks required to haul asphalt for the day.
- Determine tonnage needed for the day.
- Communicate with the owners, inspectors and engineers about the project.
-Ability to shovel and rake asphalt as needed.
- Ability to perform calculations for areas and volumes, as well as layout the job.

-Maintains time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.

Skills:
- Knowledge of safety for the crews, yourself and others.
- Knowledge and understanding of traffic control.
- Must have a valid drivers license.

Education and Experience:

-Minimum of 5 years of paving experience and knowledge of all paving equipment.

-High School Diploma or GED

-Must be in the Laborer's Union or willing to join.
