Position Overview: 

As a Career Specialist based in Medina, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts to transform the lives of young adults. Your role will be multifaceted, blending elements of mentorship, coaching, and community engagement to support our participants on their journey to meaningful employment and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage with young adults in need of support, conducting motivational interviews and assessments to understand their goals and challenges.
  • Develop tailored plans for each participant, drawing on their strengths and addressing areas for growth, while providing ongoing mentorship and support.
  • Collaborate closely with the JOG team to share insights, strategies, and best practices for maximizing participant success and removing barriers to achievement.
  • Forge strong partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and educational institutions to create opportunities for job placement, training, and advancement.
  • Track participant progress meticulously, maintaining detailed records and documentation to ensure accountability and measure program effectiveness.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and events to equip participants with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the workforce.
  • Embrace a spirit of continuous learning and improvement, staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and community needs to enhance our program offerings.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience in job placement, career counseling, or youth development is preferred.
  • Commitment to working Monday through Friday, with flexibility to accommodate occasional local daytime travel and events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online database management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
  • Passion for making a positive impact and a strong belief in the potential of young adults to succeed.
