Guggisberg Cheese is an award winning cheese manufacturer.

The Director of Sales is responsible for planning and implementing sales plan and product development programs, both short and long term, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through Senior Management.

·         Develop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services

·         Develop and manage sales/operating budgets

·         Develop and recommend products, packaging and pricing strategy to produce the highest long – term market share

·         Guarantee achievement of marketing objectives within designated budgets

·         Evaluate market conditions and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions

·         Monitor competitor pricing, products, sales and marketing activities

·         Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners

·         Establish and maintain consistent company image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events

·         Directing sales forecasting activities and maintaining performance goals accordingly

·         Representing Guggisberg Cheese Company at trade shows and association meetings to promote the Guggisberg brand

·         Meeting with key clients, maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals

·         Prepare sales report showing sales volume, potential new sales and communicate areas of proposed customer expansion

·         Review and analyze sales performance, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness

·         Assist with product research and development

·         Assist with development of company goals and objectives

·         Participate in required staff training and professional development events

·         Participate in weekly sales meeting

·         Participate in continuous improvement programs

·         Perform other work-related duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor's degree in sales/marketing or business preferred
  • Experience in food sales strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated skill with sales/marketing techniques and financial principals
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with internal and external customers
  • Ability to participate and solve practical problems
