Director of Training & Qualification
Massillon, OH (Hybrid Schedule)
The Director of Training and Qualification will lead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technical training programs for hourly team members across 17 snack manufacturing facilities in North America. This role ensures that all training initiatives align with operational goals, safety standards, and quality expectations, driving workforce capability, consistency, and performance across the network.
Your Seat at the Table:
- Training Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technical training and qualification strategy for hourly manufacturing roles.
- Partner with Plant Directors, Operations Leaders, and HR Business Partners to assess training needs and align programs with business objectives.
- Lead a team of regional and site-level training professionals, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Program Development & Standardization
- Design and standardize training curricula, SOPs, and qualification frameworks for key manufacturing roles (e.g., machine operators, maintenance technicians, quality inspectors).
- Implement scalable onboarding and upskilling programs that support operational excellence and employee retention.
- Technology & Innovation
- Leverage digital tools, learning management systems (LMS), and simulation technologies to enhance training delivery and tracking.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging training methodologies, including microlearning, AR/VR, and mobile platforms.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all training programs meet regulatory, safety, and internal quality standards.
- Establish metrics and reporting systems to monitor training effectiveness, qualification rates, and ROI.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure training content reflects current processes and standards.
- Serve as a key voice in workforce development initiatives and talent pipeline planning.
What you Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Engineering, or related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent experience will be accepted.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing training, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success in designing and scaling technical training programs across multiple sites.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, preferably in food or snack production.
- Experience with LMS platforms, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across North America.
