 About the Position:

$0.50/hour Shift Differential
 
Full-time afternoon shift position in the Distribution Department
Hours:  Monday-Thursday: 2:00pm-11:30pm, Friday: 2:30pm-6:30pm
30 min. unpaid lunch at 6:00 p.m. and 15 min. paid break at 9:00 p.m. 

 
Job Summary:
 
The Trainer reports to the area department manager and is responsible for the training of associates, coordination of supplies, and spot-checking for quality within Distribution. Able to comply with all safety, quality, quantity standards as addressed in the Coastal Policy Reference Guide and addendums. Have a sense of urgency and able to work in a team environment.
 
Major Responsibilities:
 
Safety:  Ensure that all associates have been instructed in safety policies and procedures. Identify and report to supervision or correct, if possible, any safety hazard or violation.
 
Quality:  Maintain quality standards and report any issues to the area supervisor, look beyond the obvious.  Spot check orders for quality. Check finished goods inventory if a problem is suspected. Train on all quality aspects of the job and maintain a high standard of workmanship.
 
Systems:  Ensure that all best practices are being performed consistently and correctly across all areas within Distribution. Know how to operate all the machines/equipment in the area. Have the knowledge of how each system operates throughout the department. Check equipment before placing a service call.   
 
Communications:  Responsible for communicating appropriate information between associates, supervisors and managers respecting confidentiality.
 
Leadership:  Train associates by promoting our core values. Treat all employees respectfully and equally. Support a team environment. Maintain good or better attendance.
 
Training:  Consistent and ongoing follow up on training for new and experienced associates.  Cross-train to maximize skills and efficiencies.  Train utilizing best practices. Recommend best practice changes to supervision.
 
Efficiency:  Train order to maximize skills and efficiencies. Stay current with associate productivity levels and react according to aid in increasing production. Work with supervision to identify specific training goals.
 
Assume other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
 
Requires overall knowledge of all equipment used in the area of responsibility and any supporting areas.  Knowledge of all systems, procedures and production goals needed to maintain maximum efficiency in your area. Must have a positive outlook, while working in a team environment.
 
Able to lift 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs frequently. Able to stand up to 10 hours per day. Able to go up and down stairs periodically.
 
Ability to read and interpret all necessary paperwork, custom account notes and office requests.
 
Must have basic math skills and the ability to read and interpret all necessary paperwork to accomplish maximum efficiencies.
 
Good verbal skills and ability to interact well with subordinates, peers and superiors to support daily goals. Ability to train associates and coordinate materials in the assigned area. Knowledge of equipment, systems, best practices involved in the area of job responsibility.
