Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks including non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning facility and equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. Other tasks to include light equipment operator and painting. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Technician position is accountable for the efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Maintains pallet jacks

Maintains bakery feed totes, pack stands, film and sanitation carts

May perform general maintenance, custodial and trash removal tasks

Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments

Performs regular preventive maintenance on plant facilities

Monitors and performs non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, to include standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, installing water coolers, and/or performing non-technical modifications to plumbing and water supply systems; assists licensed plumbers, as appropriate

Performs carpentry maintenance tasks including routine painting and texturing, door and hardware installation; paints interior and exterior finishes, as appropriate.

Uses a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties

Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Education and work experience:

High school diploma/GED; at least 1 year of facilities maintenance experience

Decision-making skills

Time management skills

Organizational skills

Reading and interpreting plans, maps and instructions

Ability to work within an integrated operating enterprise

Strong mechanical aptitude

Ability to work a variable schedule

Knowledge, skills, and abilities consistent with the essential duties and responsibilities
