NOTICE OF POSITION OPENING

POSITION TITLE:
GENERAL SUPERVISION PROBATION OFFICER

The Court of Common Pleas, General Division, is seeking an individual to serve as a General Supervision Probation Officer for the Stark County Probation Department.  Under the direct supervision of the County Probation Program Director and indirect supervision of the Deputy Court Administrator, this position is responsible for supervising adult probationers convicted of felony offenses.  Other duties include: working extensively with the offices of the Common Pleas Court Judges, prosecutors, law enforcement personnel, child support enforcement agency staff, and the Stark County Day Reporting Program; providing supervision and office contacts; assist in making arrests and transporting offenders; monitoring drug screens; testifying at revocation hearings; and conducting investigations and writing reports.

Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s degree is required.  A focus on criminal justice, corrections, law enforcement, social services or related field is preferred.  Prior experience in the criminal justice field is preferred. Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license with a good driving record.  Veterans are encouraged to apply.
