POSITION/TITLE: Housing Rehab Inspector

Government agency is accepting applications for a full-time Housing Rehab Inspector.  This is a skilled position responsible for housing rehabilitation inspections.  Successful candidate will perform inspection of property to determine the ability to be rehabbed, determines housing code deficiencies and other necessary work items for rehabilitation, prepares technical specifications to complete work items, prepares work write-ups and cost estimates for bidding purposes, meets with contractors and clients relative to work items, inspects work in progress and approves work for payment.  Provides technical inspection for the demolition of vacant dilapidated structures. Resolves disputes/discrepancies between homeowner and contractor. Determines if the quality of work completed by the contractor is acceptable.

Qualifications:  Graduation from an accredited high school and three (3) years of experience in residential construction, home improvement, or rehabilitation. Must hold a valid Ohio driver’s license. 

Extensive working knowledge of residential construction and rehabilitation including major systems, types of construction, and repair methods.  Ability to work with clients and contractors. Holds a lead abatement contractor’s license or has the ability to obtain a license with 3-6 months.

Salary Range: $30,000-40,000.
