Position Description

 

Position Title: Investigative Agent

 

Immediate Supervisor: Investigative Services Supervisor 

 

Normal Working Hours: 40 hour week, flexible and variable

Normally M-F, 8AM-4PM

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  1. Complete timely investigations of Major Unusual Incidents (MUIs) involving DD eligible consumers in accordance with current MUI rule. 

 

  1. Provide training for DD affiliated groups including County Board staff, provider agencies, parents and families, and other local groups.

 

  1. Maintain regular communication with local police departments and county officials who might be involved in the conduct of any investigations.

 

  1. Participate in Incident Review Committee to evaluate trends and patterns.

 

  1. Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS

 

  1. Attend meetings and training sessions, including state and local meetings as assigned.
  2. Adhere to all ORC, OAC, and MCBDD policies and procedures.
  3. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

  1. May be exposed to infectious disease.
  2. May work with individuals with behavioral disabilities who display challenging behaviors.
  3. May be exposed to chemicals commonly found in an office environment (i.e., toner, correction fluid, etc.).

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field.
  2. Hold or eligible for Investigative Agent Ohio DODD Certification.
  3. One year full-time paid work experience in a DD setting.
  4. Possess knowledge of available community resources.
  5. Some experience working with individuals who have ID.
  6. Evidence of a valid driver’s license in state of residence, good driving record and full liability coverage on any vehicle used for transportation.
  7. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Possess computer skills in various word processing and database management programs.
  9. BCI background clearance.
