Title Manager of Transportation Services (MTS)

FLSA Status Non-Exempt

Reports To Regional Director (RD)

Position Summary

Plans with the Regional Director the scope and objectives of Transportation Services for a non-profit social service agency. Oversees Transportation Services by performing the following duties personally and/or through employees including the Transportation Professionals.

Essential Functions

Supervises Transportation Services and the Transportation Professionals. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policy and procedure and applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include: training employees; planning and organizing routes, assigning routes, and directing work; reporting Transportation Professionals’ job performance to the Regional Director; addressing and resolving complaints and problems.

Assures the compliance and maintenance with applicable codes, standard laws, regulations, rules, CARF standards, and agency policy and procedure across the service delivery system.

Ensures that a functional record keeping system is employed to maintain accurate and current records for individuals transported.

Communicates all happenings in Transportation Services to the Regional Director.

Responsible for keeping service records and scheduling maintenance of all fleet vehicles.

Routinely evaluate the efficiency of routes as services expand to optimize operations.

Work out of the Administrative office to coordinate and review services delivered that directly reflect what is agreed upon between Siffrin and its customers.

Provide ongoing training to Transportation Professionals; facilitating monthly staff meetings.

Represents the agency in the community service delivery system to encourage collaborative efforts, which result in the improvement of services provided.

Ensure safety of all passengers by collecting monthly vehicle data to review driving habits of Transportation Professionals and to ensure compliance with all traffic laws.

Completes and maintains at least 10 hours of ongoing training per year. This includes all required agency training: CPR, First Aid, BITS, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire and Emergency Weather Training, Delegated Nursing, and Individual Rights.

Follows the Siffrin Code of Ethics in the fulfillment of duties.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds; weight may vary depending on the location.

Must be able to pass a DOT physical.

Must be able to push wheelchairs, use Hoyer lifts, bend, twist, and pick up objects with body and hands.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED is required, with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in the field of DD would be considered. Must have at least two years of supervisory and/or transportation experience.

Must exhibit knowledge of the concepts of empowerment and behavior management. Must become familiar with the standards as mandated by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.

Must meet the agency policy with respect to a criminal background and motor vehicle record checks.

Must have basic computer skills including, Word, Outlook, and internet based knowledge as well as how to navigate and complete basic tasks.

 

Schedule:

Routinely works at the Transportation Services Administrative Office. This schedule is flexible based upon the requirements of the position being fulfilled.

Interaction:

The Manager of Transportation Services is the immediate supervisor to the Transportation Professionals.

The Regional Director supervises the Manager of Transportation Services.
