Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Manage and monitor compliance with mortgage-related consumer regulations including, but not limited to HMDA, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, TRID, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and Fair Lending
  • Ensure mortgage origination and operations staff is appropriately trained and kept up to date on compliance trends
  • Facilitate and respond to reviews completed by the bank’s Internal Audit Department, Compliance, and Risk departments as well as reviews completed by external auditors and quality control consultants
  • Ensure adverse action notices are accurate and delivered according to regulation
  • Develop and maintain the Mortgage Operations Manual ensuring policies and procedures accurately reflect current operating practices as well as regulatory compliance, HUD, and investor requirements and investor guidelines
  • Keep all contracts between bank and vendors, investors, and government programs up to date and compliant
  • Reconcile purchase advices, fees, vendor invoices, and mortgage related accounts working with Accounting to resolve issues as appropriate
  • Execute all investor renewal and reporting functions as dictated by each individual investor
  • Ensure optimal usage of mortgage software and interfaces including Lending QB, Doc Magic, and CSI
  • Develop and manage on-line mortgage application capabilities, ensuring appropriate controls and regulatory compliance
  • Create mortgage department management reports including, but not limited to, closed loan reports, sales reports, and ad hoc report as needed
  • Create and maintain templates in lending software
  • Review electronic disclosures and documentation packages for accuracy
  • Assist Mortgage Manager with operational and compliance issues as needed
Skills/Experience/Education:
  • 2 or more years in banking or mortgage related field
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Careful attention to detail and time management
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Experience creating and / or maintaining departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to balance competing priorities
  • Self-motivated ownership of job duties
Physical/Cognitive Demands
This position requires the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time in an office setting, advanced verbal and written communication skills including use of phone, computer, speaking, listening, and presenting, excellent organizational and time management skills, the ability to problem solve, negotiate, and persuade customers, intermediate math and analytical skills, and computer literacy.
