Description

The City of Massillon is accepting applications for part-time Janitor to work twenty (20) hours per week.  Under general supervision, the position performs janitorial duties in the administrative offices and police department building to maintain the premises in a clean and orderly condition.  This position pays $13.56 per hour and hours are worked Monday through Friday (with weekend hours as necessary), hours are to be determined (excluding holidays).

Job Description:

Under the supervisory direction of the manager, the Janitor performs a variety of routine housekeeping duties while maintaining the premise of office buildings in a clean an orderly condition.

Duties:

Cleans, sanitizes and replenishes restroom facilities

Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors

Cleans rugs, carpets, furniture and draperies/blinds

Dusts and waxes furniture, fixtures and equipment

Empties waste baskets, shredders, removes trash and properly disposes it

Performs all cleaning and related duties as required

Performs other duties, as assigned by management

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies for janitorial work

Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to a work schedule

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instruction

Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background and drug test
