Neurocare Center is seeking a fulltime Patient Account & Precertification Specialist to join our Revenue Team!  Neurocare Center is a thriving Neurology specialty practice serving Stark and surrounding counties. This is a multi-faceted position that will provide the right candidate a career with day to day variety in job duties.  Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Review patient accounts for delinquent balances or configuring pre-collect amounts on upcoming services for which the patient must pay a portion out of pocket
• Calling patient to pre-collect on delinquent balance prior to upcoming appointment
• Speaking with patients in our office regarding balances and other account questions
• Educating patients about payment plans to reduce outstanding balances
• Reviewing accounts prior to being turned over to collection agencies
• Rebilling claims to correct insurances
• Prior authorization / precertification of diagnostic testing, infusion and injection therapies
• Electronic and paper remit posting of payments and denials

Skills required:

ICD 10 knowledge

CPT coding knowledge

HIPAA and Privacy rule knowledge

Excel / MS Word

Familiarity with LCD/Medical coverage policies and determining if a procedure will be covered

Ability to read chart note documentation and extract data points needed to obtain authorizations for testing or procedures

Ability to fill out forms online or paper forms with precise data entry and accuracy

Familiarity with Workers Compensation, Ohio Medicaid, Medicare and   commercial insurances

Posting from remit and electronic posting processes

Retrieval of EOB/remit from payer portals

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience with patient accounts, precertification of diagnostic testing and posting payments in a medical office setting. A strong back ground in any of these areas is sufficient for consideration as training will be provided for all aspects of the position.  Nextgen E.H.R experience would be very beneficial for this position. Candidate must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
