Description

Ohio Metal Working Products is seeking a self-motivated, Production Laborer/Machine Operator to set up, maintain, and operate machinery. This individual will be reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. The candidate should have a willingness to learn and improve as on-the-job training will be provided. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Ensure production procedures are carried out smoothing to maximize efficiency and profits
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Maintain continuity by documenting and communication actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Report safety issues related to equipment and work environment to Supervisor or Human Resources, and adhere to OSHA and Company safety standards
  • Maintain activity logs

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Understanding of Production Procedures
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

  • Substantial walking, balancing, standing, turning, climbing, stooping, crouching, and reaching
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 35-50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to work in an industrial environment
  • Physically capable of standing for a sustained period of 8 hours per day
  • Use of safety glasses and other required PPE as needed

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud; hearing protection is required in all areas of the plant, 100% of the time.
