Reports To: Quality Manager

 

Summary: Individual is responsible to perform incoming inspection of raw materials, components and batch testing and maintains records and equipment necessary to meet product specifications.  To work with suppliers to resolve issues with nonconforming materials, to investigate and determine root cause for customer complaints and to perform various tasks to implement Malco’s QMS.  To assist production with quality related functions and issues as they arise on the production floor.   

 

Specific Duties: Specific duties are intended to describe activities that support the summary above.  The list is not all inclusive – other duties may be required to cover the breadth and depth of the position.  

• To understand and follow Malco’s Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.

• To access and follow procedures and work instructions which are applicable to the job function.

• To identify all associated Quality Records and their disposition when completed.

• To perform chemical testing and C of A verification for incoming raw materials.

• To perform batch testing and determine necessary corrections and communicate those results with production.

• To perform incoming inspection and C of A / C of C verification on components.

• To calibrate and maintain calibration records of all measuring equipment in the lab.

• Maintain and order needed lab supplies.

• To create batch cards and component testing forms and work with suppliers to maintain specifications for materials.

• Micro plating and reading (raws, formulas, water).

• Monthly reporting

• To provide Quality assistance to the production floor.

• To issue rejects and Corrective Action requests.

• To participate in the internal audit program.

• To assist in other Quality activities as needed.

• To participate on the Quality Initiative Teams (QIT).

 

Education: Minimum of a 2-year degree in the Biology or Chemistry field.  Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or Chemistry is preferred.   

 

Experience:

• Recent College graduate, preferably with 0-2 years’ experience in a QA inspection type position. 
• ASQ CQT certification or commensurate experience in a Quality Inspection function.  
• Ability to use databases, spreadsheets, and work processing programs (i.e., Microsoft Office).
