Job Responsibilities

  • Accomplish young adult focused goals by assessing needs, developing youth's skills set, providing mentorship, instruction, re-mediating, monitoring, support, and tracking/documenting progress while promoting the goals of JOG/Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and facilitating compliance to JOG's standards and objectives.
  • Works collaboratively with all members of the JOG team to determine best practices for participants, collectively aid in barrier removal and goal achievement.
  • Responsible for pre-ETS documentation and reporting as required by OOD.

Job Functions

  • Establish meaningful relations with young adults that build a foundation of trust, motivation and accountability.
  • Develop a roster of PRE-ETS youth, incorporating recruited young adults through referrals from designated eligibility categories determined by education and community partners.
  • Screen and assess program participants through motivational interviewing, orientations and interpretation of assessment tools.
  • Maintain weekly contact with active youth.
  • Provide necessary services and JOG’s competency-based curriculum, to enrolled young adults based on needs, that lead to the accomplishment of youth and organizational goals.
  • Instruct objective driven lessons to young adults individually, individually and in small groups of no more than 4, while adapting instruction methods to meet clients’ varying needs and interests.
  • Coordinate ancillary youth services/activities to further develop and progress young adults towards self-sufficiency and being one’s best self.
  • Provide JOG services at designated locations, which could include a county office, local school system and/or community-based organization.
  • Strategize, contact and re-engaged disconnected program youth.
  • Participate in work experience programs, by assisting with employer and participant recruitment, orientations, and worksite supervision. (Pending additional agreement with OOD.)
  • Track, monitor, and report youth contact, services, progress and attainments on required OOD forms.
  • Verify and follow-up on participant progress by monitoring activities with employers and educational institutes when necessary.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all issues relative to client files and the organization’s operations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, community-based organizations, community contacts and area employers.
  • Identify and mobilize all available resources in the community.
  • Provide coverage as scheduled at JOG offices and provide JOG programs and services to enrolled young adults.
  • Other duties as assigned. (Barberton Follow-up for 2024-2025)

Job Requirements

  • Available for work hours scheduled either 8:00 – 4:30 or 8:00 - 3:30 depending on the in school or out of school setting.
  • Local, daytime travel occasionally required within JOG’s service area.
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Online database management systems.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
