Cotwins Veterinary Care LLC., located in Canton, Ohio is seeking an enthusiastic person for a Veterinary Technician/ Receptionist position immediately.  We are a full service veterinary facility located on Whipple Avenue that is committed to promoting client education and quality patient care. We pride ourselves in giving every client the "family" doctor experience.

Candidate must have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, solid customer service background, an energetic self-starter, and be able to multitask.  The candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs.  The duties of the candidate on receptionist days would include: scheduling appointments for patients in accordance with established procedures, answer phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, and receive/convey messages in writing verbally.  The candidate must possess the necessary communication skills to deescalate, manage, and solve situations with complicated client conditions and expectations.  The candidate will communicate directly with the client what procedures their pet is due for as well as educate clients on services and products that we provide.

On technician responsibility days, the candidate will be expected to assist the veterinarian technicians as needed.  They will assist in restraining pets, test set-up, laboratory sample preparation and communication.  The candidate will aid the team in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of some of their routine work, so the individual must be a willing team player.  The candidate will be expected to handle inventory orders and stocking as needed for the clinic. We encourage communication and work as a team.

Other technician job duties include:

  • Exam preparation (taking history, preparing vaccines, setting up for diagnostics, etc.) and client education
  • Restraining for doctor during exam
  • Performing doctor-directed diagnostics and treatments
  • Preparing patient medications, discussing medications and side effects, and preparing accurate client charges
  • Surgical preparation and iv placement
  • Taking care of patients in the hospital and kennel

Preferred Experience, Education, and/or Training:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Associates or Bachelors preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Medical background (veterinary technician degree or training and experience) with medical terminology training is preferred.  Customer service experience required.  The candidate must possess exceptional computer skills and be able to maintain electronic medical records, scheduling, and communication.  The ability to copy, scan, and professionally transmit documents is required.
