WASTEWATER RESOUCES OPERATOR

MIDNIGHTS 12 hour shifts

$21.45 - $22.95 (for licensed operator) + shift differential

The operator will work as part of a team to help operate and maintain the treatment systems for an industrial pretreatment plant. Work generally involves monitoring and adjusting treatment processes, collecting and analyzing samples, data entry, data analyses to determine necessary process changes, scheduling of solids removal, maintenance of process equipment, and maintaining plant grounds and buildings. Other duties as assigned.

Plant Description:

The treatment plant consists of the following systems: Pre-screening, Equalization, Dissolved Air Flotation, Sequencing Batch Reactors, Final clarifier, Belt filters press, Screw press and related chemical processes. Effluent is discharged to the Village of Brewster for final treatment.

What you bring to the party:

Education and Work Experience

• Desired Skills, abilities and certifications:

  • Class 1 operator’s license preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Maintenance skills (basic plumbing, electrical, pump repair, mechanical experience…)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Laboratory Procedures (COD, TSS, pH…)
  • Machine operation (forklift, skid steer, man lift)
  • Building and grounds upkeep
  • Written and oral communications
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
